£500 Holiday Winner and Runners up!

Well we received so many entries for the holiday that it took us all weekend to decide on the winner!

We eventually decided on stillstuckon1tg who's entry just tugged at our heart strings, here is her story;

My dream holiday wouldn't be for me it would be for my sister ydouhatemekarlx and her family to go away as she's the best sister in the world and always takes care of me and helps me all the time even though she had to stay in hospital and has been poorly over the past few years. She's been married for almost seven years and has 2 children but they have never been on a honeymoon as they can't afford it. They always say when they can afford it one day they'd take the children with them as they have only been on 1 holiday since they met. They would love to go to Disneyland or Euro Disney as the children keep asking to go but they have to keep saying 1 day, so my dream holiday would be sending my sister my brother in law my niece and nephew on a honeymoon/holiday to Disneyland where they will have non stop fun and worries, for a week or so anyway.

We also gave £20 bonus credit to five runners-up as their storys were so great! The following receive the £20 bingo bonus;

My worst holiday was on a canal boat on the broads.

Our 1st day we moored up and went for a meal. When we got back the boat had sunk !! We were sent another boat but had to wait all day.

On the second day we were having a pub lunch a weird woman joined us!! The conversation became quite odd, then 2 men from a local mental hospital came in with a straight jacket and restrained her -  she had escaped from a local mental asylum!

On the 3rd day I dropped a boat hook into river my then husband tried to grab it he fell in he could not swim so I jumped in and we both had to be rescued...

day 4..we found a nice hotel for lunch as we came out hubby fell down the steps gashed his head badly and broke his ankle which needed hospitalisation to be pinned.

Day 5 I try to learn how to start boat to take it back to boat yard and was stopped by river police and fined for erratic behaviour and not being considerate to other sailors, after hitting 3 boats I got back to boatyard.

I'm not sure if this counts as a holiday experience but it certainly was an experience that I will NEVER forget.

I booked a night for myself, partner and two children to experience life during the war in an underground bunker in Yorkshire advertised as having 1940s games and learning how to make bread on an open fire, war time stories etc..
It sounded like a real fun bonding experience for my family especially as I was expecting my third child at any time. But the reality was somewhat different..... the owner of the bunker was a rude, racist, mean spirited and rather stinky bloke.

The bunker itself was plastered in photos of him holding various weapons, we were petrified!!! there were no games of any description and no food not even a cup of tea!!

We had to pay to take him out for a meal at his local pub....what a liberty!! when we returned we were all keen to get to sleep asap and get the experience over with, but my poor other half had to listen to his racist rambling well into the morning as the children and myself pretended to be asleep, (in fact I'm not sure if any of us actually slept that night).

Then if that wasn't enough the disgusting *beep *beep used a saucepan to go to the loo, he climbed the ladder to deposit his waste just to the side of the hatch...the stench was unbearable...I felt sooooooooo sick.

As soon as the sun was up over the Yorkshire moorland we wanted to avoid the morning heat (esp the parcel he left outside)we were out of there. We left with wheels spinning!! I was sick in every service station from Yorkshire to Wales!! Two days later 4 weeks early my daughter was born at home and I am still to this day so relieved that she wasn't born there.

The moral of the story I guess is that some things may not be what you expect but, if you are expecting then don't spend the night down a hole in Yorkshire!!!!!!!

30 years ago when my son was 5 we had our first holiday abroad in Spain. My son was in the pool, when he came out he went to sleep on sunbed ,but when he first got on it his erm... balls had shrunk from being in the pool,and fell through the slats,when he woke up they had gone back to normal and were stuck fast in-between the slats, we had to call out the local fire service to cut through the slats and they charged us for call out that left us skint for the rest of the holiday. He hates us telling that story now lol.

2 yrs ago we went to kefelonia for a quiet break before I had to have surgery. On the day before we flew the travel agents rang to say holiday was overbooked and they would have to change hotel. we ended up in a German hotel miles from anywhere, no-one spoke English, bar & pool were closed and it was S/C instead of FB.

On the first night I was bitten on my toe by a spider and had allergic reaction, foot swelled so much I could only wear flip flops for rest of week. I had to have jabs and antibiotics so couldn't drink.

On 3rd day whilst trying to hobble round sightseeing I slipped on cobblestones and broke my big toe (next to the one that had been bitten) splitting the nail straight down the centre and ended up at hospital - more jabs and pills.

On 5th day the car we had hired broke down, and my partner got food poisoning. Not the relaxing holiday we wanted, I couldn't wait to get home, unfortunately the travel company insisted we go back to hospital and get documents signed saying we were OK to fly, meaning we missed our flight home and had to spend an extra 10 hours at the airport waiting for another flight.

I will NEVER go to kefelonia again!

Thanks to everyone who entered, we really appreciate all your stories :)
